Doctors are often frustrated when their staff members are not able to use digital x-rays in such a way that provides diagnostic images. A key component in changing this is to provide training. Staff members need to be shown the difference between film/PSP and sensors in terms of techniques. As the Radiation Protection Officer, the dentist has a responsibility to assist team members who struggle with imaging techniques. It is difficulty to close down the office for a half day refresher. Find options to assist your team. Trainers can come to your office and train your entire team or often you can send your team to the trainer without closing down the office. Your dental images are one of your best diagnostic tools. You spent money to buy the right sensor or PSP system. Now...make sure your staff can use it.
